Mayda did a wonderful job speaking to a large group about her experiences. It is a group and venue that requires someone to "command" attention to be heard, and she took good control of the room. Mayda is well spoken and comfortable in talking about difficult things in her life. 2025 Youth Empowerment Conference
Mayda Berrios was our morning keynote speaker on day two of our 2025 Youth Empowerment Conference, sometimes a tough spot following a busy and late day one. However she came prepared with an engaging and interactive keynote that got our guests out of their seats and connecting with each other. Her keynote was so well received about a third of our evaluation respondents indicated that her keynote was the most valuable aspect of the conference for them. Mayda's message was received as both relatable and inspiring by our audience of teens/young adults in foster care and caregivers/staff. We're so glad to have worked with Mayda for this event and hope to again in the future!

Through Their Lenses Conference
As the Chief Program Director of Restoration Family Services, the agency that hosted the conference and a key player in securing speakers, deciding to reach out to Mayda was one of the best decisions that could have been made. Mayda was a rock star, and the reviews of her presentation are overwhelmingly positive. She was able to bring a different perspective that needed to be heard. Oftentimes, when it comes to youth who age out of the foster care system, the negativity overrides the positive. Still, her story allows everyone to see that with the proper support, starting from a youth's case team, foster parents, and even the judge presiding over the case, these youth can be successful. Mayda is someone for the younger generation to look up to and for professionals to learn from, and a person that everyone will want to root for. Her presentation was insightful, engaging, and fun. You will get to move (The activity allowed me to recognize how out of shape I was, lol!), but there is a point behind it, a very valuable and important point! I look forward to working with Mayda in the future. Her professionalism, commitment, and story shine!
